BCubed for Biggby Coffee buildings serial numbers SMSD-0001A to SMSD-0056A installed before December 2023 were equipped with an opaque compression fit water line for the bathroom hand sink. Reports of this lines failing have been received. While plumbers use this product every day without fail, we have determined this material is not performing to our expectations for this application.
BCubed recommends immediate replacement of the opaque compression lines with 3/8-inch braided supply lines. BCubed will supply the new water lines and cover the cost to ship them to you. Changing the lines is a simple DYI project and does not require a plumber. Please see photos and instructions below. To request replacement water lines please contact BCubed Building Support. Bathroom Hand Sink Water Supply Line Instructions:
- Locate opaque supply lines under the bathroom hand sink.
- Remove white pipe covers.
- Turn off hot and cold valves under the sink.
- Remove opaque lines under the sink with a crescent wrench while holding the shut-off valve so it doesn’t twist.
- Reinstall the new stainless braided supply lines from the shut-off valve to the mixing valve.
- Tighten down with a crescent wrench while holding the shut-off valve so it doesn’t twist.
- Turn on both shut-off valves.
- Run water through the sink to check for leaks.
- Reinstall white pipe covers.
